Dr Christine Tsui, founder of Leng Yun Fashion Community, is the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Textile and Apparel Education Society. She is an independent scholar, business training mentor, fashion critic, and columnist. She is also a recipient of the U.S. Fulbright Scholarshiop and an “Excellent Contributor to fashion topics on Zhihu (the equivalence of Quora in China). She was recognized as a LinkedIn Expert in 2020. With over 400,000 followers across all platforms, her audience primarily consists of professionals in the fashion and luxury goods industries.

- 2022 Fashion Award judge for “Let the World See Chinese Beauty” on CCTV Shanghai;
- 2019 A/W Shenzhen Fashion Week “Fashion Award” judge;
- 2018-2021 “Chinese Cup” Fashion Design Competition judge;

She has contributed writing for Vogue Fashion & Beauty, Figaro, BoF (Business of Fashion) Fashion Review, Weekend Magazine, Sanlian Life Weekly, Zhihu, and others.

Leng Yun Fashion Community also has its own team of instructors, offering courses that cover nearly all aspects of fashion: Apparel Design, Sneaker Design and Development, Apparel Production and Supply Chain Management, Luxury Retail Operations, Fashion Marketing and Brand, cross-border E-commerce.
Christine is frequently interviewed by financial and fashion media outlets. Her views on fashion business have been adopted by major media including Huxiu, Southern Weekly, China Business Journal, Vogue Business, and 36Kr.
In 2013-14, Christine was awarded the Fulbright Scholar Award by the U.S. government. During the same year, she was a visiting scholar at Parsons School of Design in New York. Her research primarily focuses on comparing Chinese and Western fashion systems, including education and commercial frameworks.
Christine has worked in the footwear and apparel industry for nearly 15 years, having held positions at Nike, Belle, and Li & Fung Group.
Her major publications include China Fashion: Conversations with Chinese Fashion Designers, Practical Handbook for Fashion Buyers (3rd edition, 10th printing), Senior Buyer’s Bible, No Rush in Life, No Hurry in the Workplace, and Introduction to Fashion Business: From Tradition to Digitalization (which received the Third Prize for Excellent Books from the China National Textile and Apparel Council).
Christine is also a sector editor for the ROUTLEDGE Encyclopedia of China Studies (English) in the Economics and Business section. She is the author of entries on “Chinese Fashion Designers” and “Chinese Design Education” in the Encyclopedia of Asian Design (English), as well as the author of the article on Chinese design education in Design Education: Theory and Practice (English). Christine’s research papers have been published in top-tier English journals related to fashion and design, including, but not limited to, Fashion Theory, Design Issues, and The Journal of Design History.
