Dr Christine Tsui is an independent fashion scholar, business coach and mentor, fashion critic, and columnist. Tsui has been working in fashion sector since 1996. She is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship and an excellent contributor to fashion topics on Zhihu (the equivalence of Quora.com in China). She was recognized as a LinkedIn Expert in 2020. With over 400,000 followers across all Chinese social media, her audience primarily consists of professionals in the fashion and luxury goods industries. Dr Tsui also founded Leng Yun Fashion Community in China. It is a virtual community that owns high quality of talents in fashion industry.

Her training courses and consulting services cover topics such as Product Planning, Buying and Merchandising, Social-media, fashion writing, aesthetic consumption and marketing, SME management, consumer insights and research.
Leng Yun Fashion Circle also has its own team of instructors and consultatns, offering courses that cover nearly all divisions of fashion business, including apparel product knowledge, sneaker design and development, apparel production and supply chain management, luxury retail operations, fashion marketing and brand building, cross-border e-commerce, and more.
Christine is frequently interviewed by financial and fashion media in China. Her views on fashion business have been adopted by mainstream media including Huxiu, Southern Weekly, China Business Journal, Vogue Business, and 36Kr.
In 2013-14, Tsui was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship by the U.S. state government. During the same year, she was a visiting scholar at Parsons School of Design in New York. Her research primarily focuses on comparing Chinese and Western fashion systems, including education and commercial infrastructure.
Christine has worked in the footwear and apparel industry for nearly 15 years, having held positions at Nike, Belle, and Li & Fung Group.
Her major publications include China Fashion: Conversations with Chinese Fashion Designers (English and Chinese, Bloomsbury), Practical Handbook for Fashion Buyers (3rd edition, 10th printing, Chinese), Advanced Workbook for Senior Buyer and Merchandisers (Chinese). Introduction to Fashion Business: From Tradition to Digitalization (which received the Third Prize for Excellent Books from the China National Textile and Apparel Council).
Christine is also a sector editor for the ROUTLEDGE Encyclopedia of China Studies (English) in the Economics and Business section. She is the author of entries on “Chinese Fashion Designers” and “Chinese Design Education” in the Encyclopedia of Asian Design (English), as well as the author of the article on Chinese design education in Design Education: Theory and Practice (English).
Christine’s research papers have been published in top-tier English journals related to fashion and design, including, but not limited to, Fashion Theory, Design Issues, and The Journal of Design History.
